Alien OG x Animal Cookies
AC/OG is the otherworldly offspring of the Alien OG and Animal Cookies strains of cannabis. This Indica-dominant strain, bred by Greenpoint Seeds, produces dense, sticky buds that are coated in a thick layer of trichomes. AC/OG’s high THC content and powerful cerebral effects will launch users into the farthest reaches of space.
In creating AC/OG, Greenpoint Seeds has combined the soaring high of Alien OG with the narcotic stone of Animal Cookies and delivered a well-rounded hybrid that is both relaxing and mood-boosting. Although this strain is challenging to cultivate, it rewards growers with a stellar harvest of potent, frosty, and highly aromatic buds.
AC/OG Strain
Alien OG
Alien OG, the mother of AC/OG, is well-known as one of the most potent cannabis strains on the market. Its intense cerebral effects and pleasant aroma have made this variety popular among recreational as well as medical cannabis users.
The story of Alien OG starts with Alien Technology, a rare strain coveted by growers and breeders alike. Some growers believe that this variety is a pure landrace Indica that was brought to the United States by a soldier returning home from Afghanistan. The soldier gave some seeds of this strain to an Oregon-based breeder nicknamed Obsol33t.
Obsol33t cultivated the seeds and soon became enamored of the strain. The buds were unusually potent and emitted a pleasant aroma of vanilla and incense. Determined to preserve this rare strain, Obsol33t found a suitable male from the same batch of seeds and used it to pollinate his cut of Chem D. Next, he chose a male from this Chem/Alien Technology hybrid and pollinated his cut of Las Vegas Purple Kush, dubbing this strain Alien Kush. Finally, Obsol33t crossed a male Alien Kush with the renowned Tahoe OG, creating Alien OG.
Initially, Alien OG was a clone-only strain that circulated around the West Coast. It quickly gained a following for its intense high and sweet, earthy yet out-of-this-world aroma. Soon, the strain was made available in seed form by Cali Connection, a well-known seed company. Since many breeders have used this powerful strain to create unique and potent hybrids.
Alien OG Lineage
Alien OG, the mother of AC/OG, is a hybrid of Tahoe OG and Alien Kush. Tahoe OG, popularized by Swerve of the Cali Connection, is believed to be an S1 or a hybrid of OG Kush; however, some growers suggest that it may be an original cut of OG.
Alien Kush is a polyhybrid developed by Obsol33t. The parents of Alien Kush are Las Vegas Purple Kush and a male Alien Dog. Alien Dog, in turn, is a cross of the Chem D cut and an Alien Technology male. Many growers believe that Alien Technology is an Afghan landrace strain.

Animal Cookies
Animal Cookies was developed by the Cookies Family of San Francisco during the early 2010s. The Cookies Family has received widespread acclaim for developing some of the most potent and frosty strains on the market. The Cookies Family created Animal Cookies by using OG Raskal’s famous Fire OG to pollinate the original cut of Girl Scout Cookies. Animal Cookies’ unmatched bag appeal and divine flavor make this cultivar one of the most popular cuts of Cookies.
Animal Cookies Lineage
Animal Cookies, the other parent of AC/OG, hails from two elite strains—Girl Scout Cookies and Fire OG. The lineage of Girl Scout Cookies is a bit of a mystery; however, the Cookies Family has said that it is an Indica-dominant hybrid of Florida OG and a strain known as F1 Durban. F1 Durban probably is a descendent of Durban Poison, a popular landrace Sativa strain.
The ancestry of Fire OG, the other parent of Animal Cookies, also is a bit unclear. This cut, popularized by a California-based breeder known as OG Raskal, is an excellent representation of OG Kush. This cultivar may be a cutting of the original OG Kush that was brought about during the 1990s; however, some growers think that it is either an S1 of OG Kush or possibly a hybrid of OG and another strain.
AC/OG Feminized Cannabis Seeds
Greenpoint Seeds developed AC/OG by using the clone-only cut of Animal Cookies to pollinate Alien OG. This Indica-dominant hybrid displays a blend of traits from both of its parents. Some plants may be more Alien OG-dominant, and others may display more Animal Cookies characteristics. Nearly every plant will be exceptionally potent and flavorful.
AC/OG is a feminized hybrid of Alien OG and Animal Cookies. Many growers choose feminized seeds because these seeds make growing high-quality cannabis simple and straightforward. Nearly every one of our feminized seeds will produce healthy, stable female plants. This means that growers won’t have to take the time to separate male plants before they pollinate their females.
AC/OG Aroma
Alien OG offers a rich and complex aroma. This variety smells strongly of sweet citrus, with musky hints of wood, soil, and pine. The lemon-pine aroma hints at the strain’s Tahoe OG heritage.
In contrast, Animal Cookies provides a robust fragrance that is sweet and zesty. The flowers emit a nutty and earthy scent, with undertones of cookie dough, gasoline, skunk, and mint. When the dried buds are broken apart, Animal Cookies exudes distinct notes of cherry, pepper, and pine.
By combining these two aromatic cultivars, AC/OG offers a range of phenotypes that emit the aromas of Alien OG and Animal Cookies. Some plants may take on the sweet lemonade and musky pine scent of Alien OG, and others may display the sweet-and-sour tang of Animal Cookies. Most plants emit a blend of these aromas.
AC/OG Flavor
AC/OG is a flavorful strain that tastes of lemonade and cookies, contrasted with savory hints of sandalwood, incense, soil, pine, and skunk. The musky citrus flavor remains on the tongue long after smoking AC/OG. Depending on the phenotype, AC/OG may be earthier and more citrusy or may taste more of cookie dough and cherries.
AC/OG Effects

Although Alien OG is an Indica-dominant variety, its effects are highly cerebral. This cultivar produces a powerful and stimulating high that offers a rush of euphoria and creativity. Users report that Alien OG also relaxes the muscles and eases pain. If enjoyed in small amounts, this variety is great for a morning or afternoon smoke. If consumed in excess, this invigorating high may turn into a couch-locking stone.
In contrast, Animal Cookies offers a relaxing, narcotic effect that can be felt almost instantly. Some users report that the body-numbing stone lulls them into hibernation and appears to relieve pain. Animal Cookies is perfect for a relaxing evening or weekend smoke but is not ideal for daytime use.
By combining these two potent strains, AC/OG offers a powerful but well-balanced high, which can be felt in both the mind and body. The high starts as an invigorating headrush, and slowly evolves into a relaxing and soothing body stone. Alien OG-dominant phenotypes may be more cerebral, and Animal Cookies-dominant phenotypes may be more narcotic. Growers can select a phenotype that suits their preferences.
AC/OG Structure
Most phenotypes of Alien OG are short and bushy, but some Tahoe OG-dominant phenotypes are taller and lankier. Alien OG produces strong branches, thick, dark-green leaves, and medium-size colas. The flowers are dense and heavily coated in trichomes. Some Alien Kush-dominant plants may produce lighter and fluffier buds. When exposed to cold temperatures, some plants may display hints of lavender in the buds and leaves.
Animal Cookies is slightly more robust than other Cookies varieties. This cultivar is medium to tall in height, with long, slender branches that have significant internodal spacing. The dark-green leaves often display shades of purple and red when exposed to nighttime temperatures. Animal Cookies forms bright-green, popcorn-size buds with dark-purple sugar leaves and red-orange pistils.
AC/OG is of medium height, with robust branches and thick, dark green leaves. Some plants may be somewhat taller and have more internodal spacing. This strain forms small to medium-size colas that are heavily dusted in trichomes. Some Cookies-dominant phenotypes may display hues of red and purple in the leaves and buds during the late flowering period. Most phenotypes will be exceptionally dense and frosty.
Growing AC/OG
Alien OG can be challenging to cultivate and as such is not usually recommended for inexperienced growers. This strain has a sensitive root system and requires a higher pH than most strains. Alien OG thrives when it is grown indoors, particularly in a rockwool medium. To reach its full potential, this variety also requires ample nutrition and a highly controlled environment. As it matures, Alien OG develops a thick canopy, which may reduce light penetration to the lower buds. Growers often remove the excess fan leaves in order to promote air circulation and light penetration.
Animal Cookies also presents challenges to growers. This variety is sensitive to changes in temperature and pH, and other environmental stresses. Animal Cookies flourishes in a highly controlled environment, with a diet rich in micronutrients.
Like its parents, AC/OG can be a challenge for growers. This variety requires a temperate climate, consistent pH, and ample lighting and nutrition. Some Alien OG-dominant plants may need to be pruned in order to increase light penetration and air circulation. Some plants may stretch significantly during the early flowering period. Growers can reduce the vertical stretch and increase the yield of AC/OG by using high-stress and low-stress training methods. The plants benefit from topping, fimming, super cropping, and other training techniques.
Pest & Disease Control
Due to its Cookies and OG pedigree, some AC/OG plants might be prone to powdery mildew infections. Growers can prevent powdery mildew infections by maintaining appropriate temperature and humidity levels, using natural foliar sprays, offering lots of air circulation, and keeping the plants pruned. They can also use foliar sprays such as water and sodium bicarbonate solutions to prevent powdery mildew from spreading.
Some phenotypes of AC/OG have denser and frostier flowers than other plants. These plants may be somewhat susceptible to bud rot. As with powdery mildew, growers can prevent bud rot by regularly pruning the plants, using fans to promote air circulation, and lowering the humidity level below 50 percent during the flowering cycle.
Most Cookies and OG strains are known to require an abundance of calcium and magnesium. This is true of AC/OG as well. Growers can prevent calcium and magnesium deficits by feeding with a cal-mag supplement or amending the growing medium with crushed oyster shells, lime, and gypsum. AC/OG also may be sensitive to pH fluctuations. Using a pH meter will help growers ensure that they maintain a suitable pH level while mixing nutrient solutions.
Harvesting & Curing AC/OG
AC/OG typically finishes the flowering cycle in nine weeks. Looking at the trichomes with a magnifying glass is the best way to determine if the plants are ripe. If the plants are harvested when the trichomes are clear, AC/OG may deliver a more uplifting cerebral effect. If the plants are harvested when most of the trichomes are amber, AC/OG’s effects are usually more calming. To ensure a large yield of potent buds, AC/OG should be harvested when most of the trichomes are milky white.
Growers typically flush the plants for a week or two before harvest. Many believe that flushing improves the quality of the buds by removing excess chlorophyll and nutrients that they make have stored. AC/OG’s leaves tend to fade to hues of yellow or purple during this period.
Once the plants have been flushed and are fully ripened, the harvesting process can begin. Growers harvest the plants by chopping down the branches and removing the large leaves. They trim away the small sugar leaves that surround the buds and use the trim to make hashish, tinctures, and other THC-rich products.
After the buds have been neatly trimmed, they need to be dried. To dry the buds, growers typically hang the branches by a node or place them on a drying rack. After three to six days, the buds should be fully dried.
When the flowers have been dried, growers can remove the buds from the branches and store them in airtight containers. Keeping the jars in a cool, dry, and dark place will protect the delicate cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, and other compounds in the flowers. Growers typically open the jars once or twice a day to accelerate the curing process and prevent moisture from collecting in the flowers. After two or three weeks, the buds are ready to be enjoyed; however, some growers prefer to cure them for up to eight weeks.
