Wedding Pie x Animal Cookies
Frozen Custard is a treat for growers and users alike. This premium feminized hybrid brings together two legendary, dessert-themed cultivars—Wedding Pie and Animal Cookies—to create a potent strain that is sweet, creamy, and extra frosty.
Wedding Pie has received much acclaim for its fruity aroma, mouthwatering flavor, and calming effects. This variety is hardy and easy to cultivate, rewarding growers with a harvest of dense, resin-caked buds that are rich in THC. Animal Cookies, in turn, is a potent and aromatic strain that is somewhat challenging to grow. By crossing the two, Greenpoint Seeds has created Frozen Custard—a vigorous and hardy strain that is jam-packed with aroma, flavor, and potency.
Frozen Custard Strain
Wedding Pie
The story of Wedding Pie, the mother of Frozen Custard, started with Triangle Mints—an exceptional hybrid that has produced award-winning phenotypes. Triangle Mints was developed by Jbeezy of Seed Junky Genetics. Jbeezy created this strain by using his prized Animal Mints male to pollinate the original, clone-only cut of Triangle Kush. The resulting hybrid, known as Triangle Mints, was a hit among growers and users.
One particular phenotype of Triangle Mints stood out from the rest. This cut produced a generous yield of buds that emitted a scrumptious aroma of lemon, vanilla, and sponge cake. The Jungle Boys, a famous group of growers in Los Angeles, nicknamed this phenotype “Wedding Cake,” in honor of its sweet aroma.
Cannarado Genetics, a well-known cannabis breeder in Colorado, obtained a cutting of the renowned Wedding Cake and pollinated it with a Grape Pie male. The resulting hybrid, known as Wedding Pie, produces grade-A buds that emit notes of vanilla frosting, berry, grape, and sponge cake.
Wedding Pie Lineage
Wedding Pie, the mother of Frozen Custard, is a hybrid of Wedding Cake and Grape Pie. Wedding Cake is a cross of the illustrious Triangle Kush and a Jbeezy’s Animal Mints male. Triangle Kush is one of the most popular strains of all time, and is believed to have been created through the accidental pollination of an Emerald Triangle plant by a Hindu Kush plant.
Grape Pie, the father of Wedding Pie, was created by Cannarado Genetics. This cultivar is a cross of Cherry Pie and a Grape Stomper male. Cannarado has used the Grape Pie male to produce many elite hybrids such as Orange Daiquiri and Sundae Driver.

Animal Cookies
Animal Cookies is the other parent of Frozen Custard. Animal Cookies is a powerful Indica-dominant hybrid of two elite cannabis strains—Girl Scout Cookies and Fire OG. The Cookies Family, one of the most esteemed breeding collectives in the cannabis industry, created Animal Cookies. The Cookies Family has bred a wide variety of prize-winning cultivars such as Gelato 33, Gelato 41, and Thin Mint Cookies. Animal Cookies’ bag appeal and potent effects make this strain one of the finest representations of the Girl Scout Cookies family.
Animal Cookies Lineage
Animal Cookies, the other parent of Frozen Custard, is believed to be a hybrid of Girl Scout Cookies and Fire OG—two of the most sought-after strains among growers and users. Girl Scout Cookies has a mysterious pedigree; however, according to the Cookies Family, it is a hybrid of Fire OG and a strain known as F1 Durban.
Fire OG also has a hazy ancestry. Many believe that Fire OG is the original phenotype of OG Kush that was popularized in the 1990s; however, others suggest that Fire OG is an S1 or possibly a hybrid of OG Kush and another strain. In creating Animal Cookies, the Cookies Family was able to retain the unique aroma and flavor of Girl Scout Cookies, while adding the vigor and potency of Fire OG.
Frozen Custard Feminized Cannabis Seeds
Greenpoint Seeds created Frozen Custard by using the clone-only cut of Animal Cookies to pollinate a select phenotype of Wedding Pie. Frozen Custard offers a range of phenotypes that retain the elite qualities of Wedding Pie and Animal Cookies. Some plants may share the sweet, creamy aroma and hardy growth of Wedding Pie, and others may lean toward the zesty aroma and narcotic stone of Animal Cookies.
Frozen Custard is an Indica-dominant feminized hybrid. Feminized seeds are a popular choice among growers because they make it simple and satisfying to grow high-quality cannabis. Growers can rest assured that approximately 99.9 percent of our feminized seeds will produce sexually stable female plants. By using feminized seeds, growers no longer need to worry about male plants pollinating the females.
Frozen Custard Aroma
As its name suggests, Wedding Pie smells strongly of freshly baked pie. This variety provides a sweet and creamy bouquet of vanilla, berry, grape, and pie crust. When the flowers are broken apart, hints of wet soil and gasoline are released.
Animal Cookies offers a complex bouquet that is sweet and tangy. The buds emit delectable notes of cookie dough, brown sugar, and cherries, mixed with zesty undertones of gasoline, soil, and skunk. Hints of pepper and pine also become apparent when breaking apart the buds of this terpene-rich strain.
Frozen Custard melds the fruity, pie-like aroma of Wedding Pie with the sweet-and-sour scent of Animal Cookies. This variety is rich in terpenes and emits sugary notes of cherries, grapes, and cookie dough, mixed with bitter undertones of soil, skunk, and petrol. Some phenotypes may lean toward the sweet, fruity aroma of Wedding Pie, and others may display the cookie-dough funk of Animal Cookies.
Frozen Custard Flavor
True to its name, Frozen Custard tastes like a fruity frozen dessert. This variety tastes of cherry, grape, vanilla, and cookie dough, with hints of soil and petrol. The smoke is smooth and thick, coating the mouth with a sweet, earthy flavor that lingers for several minutes. Some phenotypes may taste more strongly of grape and pie crust, and others may taste more like cherry and cookie dough. Most plants will offer a blend of these flavors.
Frozen Custard Effects
With most plants containing more than 20 percent THC, Wedding Pie delivers a powerful high that is well balanced. This variety provides a calming effect that may ease tension and relieve pain. Wedding Pie also delivers a soothing cerebral high that may elevate the mood and relieve stress. Smoking Wedding Pie is a great way to unwind after a long day.
Animal Cookies also provides a strong Indica-like effect. This variety delivers a powerful body high that, according to many users, eases tension and reduces pain. The high comes on almost immediately, improving the mood, increasing the appetite, and soothing the body. When consumed in excess, this strain may send users into a restful slumber.
Frozen Custard combines the relaxing and soothing effect of Wedding Pie with the narcotic and body-numbing stone of Animal Cookies. Users report that this strain may ease tension in the body and mind, relieve pain, and help them fall into a deep sleep. Frozen Custard is the perfect strain for a soothing evening smoke, or late-night delight.
Frozen Custard Structure
Wedding Pie is medium to tall in height, with extensive lateral branching and broad fan leaves. This Indica-dominant cultivar grows vigorously and produces thick, weighty colas. The lime-green flowers are dense and heavily coated in trichomes. When exposed to cold temperatures, Wedding Pie may display shades of purple in the leaves and buds.
Animal Cookies also is medium to tall in height, with long, lanky branches and dark-green leaves. The leaves often fade to hues of dark purple and red during the late flowering period. Animal Cookies forms small, bright-green buds that are flecked with colorful sugar leaves and red-orange hairs.
Frozen Custard shares growth characteristics of both parents. This variety is medium to tall in height, with broad, dark-green leaves that sport thick rails of resin. Frozen Custard forms medium-size colas that comprise dense, lime-green buds. The flowers are incredibly frosty, and are decorated with purple sugar leaves and bright-orange pistils.
Growing Frozen Custard
Wedding Pie is a healthy, hardy variety that is resilient to most pests, diseases, and environmental stressors. This cultivar is adaptable and can thrive both indoors and outdoors. When grown outdoors, Wedding Pie favors a temperate climate with low humidity.
Animal Cookies, on the other hand, is a challenging strain for most growers to cultivate. This variety is sensitive to environmental stresses, and may be stunted by large fluctuations in pH and temperature. To reach its full potential, Animal Cookies needs regular pruning, ample lighting, a micronutrient-rich diet, and a consistent pH.
Frozen Custard offers the vigor and hardiness of Wedding Pie and the exceptional bag appeal of Animal Cookies. This strain is resistant to most pests and diseases, and can be grown both indoors and outdoors. Although Frozen Custard is a resilient strain, some Animal Cookies-dominant phenotypes may be more sensitive to environmental stressors.
Both Wedding Pie and Animal Cookies stretch significantly during the early flowering period. Like its parents, Frozen Custard may stretch considerably in height as it begins to bloom. Growers can limit the vertical stretch and increase the yield of this cultivar by using a variety of high-stress and low-stress training methods. The plants benefit from topping, fimming, super cropping, and other training techniques. The weight of the bulky colas may cause the branches to bend during the late flowering period. Staking or trellising the plants may prevent the branches from sagging. Finally, some Wedding Pie-dominant phenotypes may display extensive lateral branching and a thick canopy of leaves. Growers can increase light penetration and air circulation by pruning the plants and keeping them spaced apart.
Pest & Disease Control
Frozen Custard is resilient to most pests and diseases; however, some phenotypes may be prone to powdery mildew. To prevent powdery-mildew infections, as well as other fungal infections, growers remove excess leaves, provide the plants with ample airflow and lighting, and keep the humidity level low during the flowering cycle. Some growers also use foliar sprays such as water and sodium bicarbonate mixtures to prevent powdery mildew from taking hold in the garden; however, these sprays should not be applied to plants that are flowering.
Both Wedding Pie and Animal Cookies are prone to bud rot. Due to the extreme density and frost of the buds, Frozen Custard also is susceptible to bud rot. Growers can prevent bud rot by lightly pruning the plants, providing sufficient air circulation, and keeping the humidity level below 50 percent during the flowering period.
Harvesting & Curing Frozen Custard
Most phenotypes of Frozen Custard will complete the flowering cycle in nine weeks; however, some plants may need another week to ripen fully. Looking at the trichomes with a jeweler’s loupe is the most effective way to determine if the plants have reached maturity. When the trichomes have turned white and amber, growers know that the plants are ready for harvest. Frozen Custard may deliver a more uplifting and cerebral high if it is harvested early. Conversely, if the plants are harvested when the majority of the trichomes have turned amber, the high is usually more sedating. By keeping an eye on the trichomes, growers can harvest the plants at peak ripeness, allowing them to achieve maximum yield and potency.
Approximately one to two weeks before harvest, growers usually stop feeding the plants and flush them with water. Many growers believe that flushing may help to remove chlorophyll and excess nutrients in the buds, and make them smoother and more flavorful to smoke. When flushing Frozen Custard, the large fan leaves often turn from dark-green to purple, red, and yellow.
After a thorough flush, Frozen Custard is ready to be harvested. Growers typically start by chopping down the top colas first. Next, they cut off the large fan leaves on the branches, and trim the small sugar leaves that surround the flowers. Many growers save the sugar leaves and use them to make THC-rich products such as tinctures and edibles.
Once the buds have been manicured, the next step is to dry them. The branches can be hung a node or placed on a drying rack for up to one week. It may take longer to dry Frozen Custard due to the incredible density of the flowers. Growers know that the flowers have been fully dried when the stems feel brittle, and the buds feel light and crispy.
The final part of the harvesting process is to cure the buds. Curing the buds is very important, as it can preserve the potency and aroma of the buds. Growers first cut the buds from the branches and put them in sealable glass jars. They store the jars in a cool and dry place, and open them once or twice a day for up to two weeks. By opening, or “burping” the jars, growers can speed up the curing process and prevent mold from growing on the flowers. The buds can be smoked after two weeks of curing, but it may take longer for a proper cure.

I love Frozen Custard. It was a bit tougher than some other hybrids by GPS, but not truly difficult to grow. With patience and attention to detail there is no reason anyone couldn’t grow prize buds with the phenotypes this cultivar can produce. Stock up!
