Purple Crash is an absolutely breathtaking cross of Purple Punch and Sundae Driver. These two rare and elite cultivars collide to bring together the best qualities of both parents for a truly radiant purple superstar. Purple Crash provides an array of phenotypes that offer superb bag appeal, rich and fruity flavors, and abundant yields. Given its stout structure and hardy growth, this strain is perfect for growers of all skill levels.
Purple Crash Strain
Sundae Driver is the mother of Purple Crash. Sundae Driver was originally developed by Cannarado Genetics, a Colorado breeder that has created an array of top-tier strains such as Grape Pie and Orange Daiquiri. Cannarado bred Sundae Driver by pollinating the famed Fruity Pebbles OG with their proven Grape Pie male. Sundae Driver became an instant hit and many popular dispensaries, including the Jungle Boys of Los Angeles, began offering the strain.
Sundae Driver has received widespread acclaim and has become a favorite among many growers and users. Because seeds of this cultivar are no longer offered by Cannarado, they are now highly coveted by growers and breeders. For example, one pack of Sundae Driver seeds was sold for $2,500 at auction.
Sundae Driver Lineage
Sundae Driver is a cross of Fruity Pebbles OG and Grape Pie. Fruity Pebbles OG is believed to be a polyhybrid of Green Ribbon, Granddaddy Purple, Tahoe OG, and Alien Kush. Alien Genetics no longer produces Fruity Pebbles OG; however, the strain has become a favorite among many users, and is in high demand by breeders. Seeds of this variety have been known to sell for thousands of dollars at auction.
Grape Pie is Cannarado’s esteemed male. This cultivar is a cross of Cherry Pie and Grape Stomper, two powerful strains that are loaded with flavor and fragrance. Cannarado has used Grape Pie to breed many hybrids that are potent and aromatic.
Purple Punch is a hard-hitting strain that was developed by a group of Hawaiian breeders known as Supernova Gardens. To create this cultivar, the breeders chose a male phenotype of Granddaddy Purple and crossed it with the timeless Larry OG. The breeders named this hybrid Purple Punch, possibly to highlight its remarkable purple coloration and knockout effects.
Purple Punch Lineage
Purple Punch is believed to be a hybrid of Larry OG and Granddaddy Purple. Some growers have said that Larry OG may be an original cut of OG Kush; however, it bears some differences from the original phenotype. Notably, Larry OG tends to produce a more abundant yield and sturdier stalks than most OG cuts. Given its more robust structure, some believe that Larry OG could be an S1 or a hybrid of OG Kush and an unknown strain.
Granddaddy Purple, Purple Punch’s father, is an Indica-dominant hybrid of Purple Urkle and Big Bud. Some growers believe that Purple Urkle is a phenotype of Mendocino Purps. Big Bud, in turn, is believed to be a cross of Afghani, Haze, and Northern Lights.

Sundae Driver is known for its rich, fruity fragrance. This cultivar emanates notes of cereal, grape, and tropical fruit, with subtle herbal hints. Some Sundae Driver phenotypes also emit hints of dark chocolate. When these scents are combined, they create a bouquet redolent of an ice cream sundae.
Purple Punch, the other parent of Sundae Driver, is cherished for its wonderfully sweet and fruity scent. This variety smells of grape, berry, and soda. Some users also notice hints of vanilla and herbs when breaking apart the sticky buds.
Purple Crash combines these two terpene-rich cultivars to create the ultimate dessert-themed strain. This variety smells strongly of fresh grapes, with notes of tropical fruit, berry, chocolate, and vanilla. The buds fill the room with the sweet scents of ice cream and tropical fruit.

Both Sundae Driver and Purple Punch are known for their sugary-sweet flavors. Combined, these strains produce a mouthwatering amalgamation of grape, berry, tropical fruit, and herbs. The flavor is smooth and creamy and tends to leave users craving more.
Purple Crash Effects
Sundae Driver is an Indica-dominant strain that delivers a mellow but satisfying effect. This strain can produce between 14 percent and 21 percent THC and provides a soothing stone that can be felt in both the body and mind. The effects kick in with a gentle swell of elation that soon shifts into a profoundly relaxing stone, easing stress and pain. Given its mellow high, Sundae Driver makes for a great all-day smoke, if enjoyed in small amounts.
In contrast, Purple Punch delivers a potent stone that may send users to bed early. Purple Punch may be helpful in easing pain, elevating the mood, encouraging sleep, and more.
Like its parents, Purple Crash is an Indica-dominant strain that provides a deeply soothing stone. Some Sundae Driver phenotypes may be more mellow and balanced, and some Purple Punch-dominant plants may be more potent and narcotic. This variety makes for a perfect evening or late-night smoke.

Sundae Driver is medium to tall in height, with elongated stems and large, sharply serrated fan leaves. As harvest time nears, the leaves often present hues of purple, blue, and red. Purple Punch is of average height, with strong branches and fat leaves. This cultivar produces bulky colas that are caked in resin. Growing Purple Crash
Sundae Driver is a hardy and stout strain that is simple to grow. This cultivar is resilient to most environmental stresses and can be grown both indoors and outdoors. When grown outside, Sundae Driver thrives in a temperate climate, with moderate humidity.
Purple Punch also is an easy-to-grow variety that is resistant to many pests and diseases. This strain does not stretch much during the flowering period and requires little training to achieve an abundant yield.
Like its parents, Purple Crash is a beginner-friendly strain that is a breeze to grow. Given its average height, this variety is ideal for grow tents and spaces with lower ceiling heights. Purple Crash grows vigorously during the vegetative growth period and completes the flowering cycle in just eight to nine weeks.
Pest & Disease Control
Although Purple Crash is resistant to most pests, some Purple Punch-dominant plants may be susceptible to caterpillar infestations. Caterpillars may damage the leaves and buds, and cause leaf yellowing and stunted growth. Growers can prevent infestations by employing barrier fabrics, beneficial insects, and various foliar sprays.
