OG Kush started as an ounce of Krippy bought in south Florida in the early nineties. Alec Anderson found seeds in it, kept the broad-leafed standout, and passed a cutting to Matt “Bubba” Berger in Gainesville, where a friend said the buds looked like kushberries and the name stuck.

In 1996 Matt carried the cut to a small Silverlake room he shared with Josh D, California fell in love, copies spread under the same name, and the two started saying OG, for Original, to mark theirs. Its deeper parentage is still argued: Chemdawg over Hindu Kush by one account, Lemon Thai and Pakistani Kush in others.

Everything below carries OG Kush.
