Bubblegum x Animal Cookies
Bubbles is a premium cannabis cultivar bursting with aroma, flavor, and potency. This Indica-dominant strain is a feminized hybrid of two world-renowned varieties—Indiana Bubblegum and Animal Cookies. Bubbles produces dense, frosty buds that are glazed in a thick layer of trichomes.
Indiana Bubblegum is a classic strain with a long history in the underground cannabis scene. This cultivar offers a unique and delicious aroma of classic pink bubblegum. By combining Indiana Bubblegum with the prized clone-only cut of Animal Cookies, Greenpoint Seeds has produced a strain—Bubbles—that offers the high yield, unique aroma, and vigor of Indiana Bubblegum, and the incredible potency and bag appeal of Animal Cookies.
Bubbles Strain
Indiana Bubblegum
Indiana Bubblegum, the mother of Bubbles, has received widespread acclaim from growers and users around the world. This award-winning variety offers a sweet aroma that smells distinctly of bubblegum. Its euphoric and body-numbing effects make Indiana Bubblegum a favorite among medical and recreational users.
Indiana Bubblegum was created in 1989 by an unknown cannabis breeder in Indiana. This mysterious breeder developed an Indica-dominant strain that offered a large yield of frosty buds redolent of sweet pink bubblegum. The breeder shared clones of this variety with a few friends and, soon, many people in Indiana were growing Bubblegum.
Indiana Bubblegum was a hit among growers and users, and the strain spread quickly throughout the U.S and Europe. This cannabis cultivar has won countless awards and has been used to create many potent and flavorful hybrids.
Indiana Bubblegum Lineage
The pedigree of Indiana Bubblegum, the mother of Bubbles, is a mystery. In light of its fast flowering time and slightly sedating effects, the cultivar appears to be an Indica-dominant hybrid. Some growers have suggested that Indiana Bubblegum is a cross of Mexican, Colombian, and Afghani strains. Others have stated that, given its sweet aroma and relaxing effects, it may be a phenotype or hybrid of Blueberry.
Animal Cookies
Animal Cookies is a legendary strain that is a favorite among Cookies fans. Animal Cookies was originally created by the Cookies Family—a well-known group of breeders based in San Francisco. The Cookies Family has created some of the most popular cannabis cultivars on the market, including Thin Mint Cookies and Biscotti. To create Animal Cookies, the breeders used the classic Fire OG to pollinate their famous cut of Girl Scout Cookies. Many growers and breeders consider this cultivar to be one of the finest cuts of Cookies.
Animal Cookies Lineage
Animal Cookies, the other parent of Bubbles, is a mostly-Indica hybrid of Girl Scout Cookies and Fire OG. According to the Cookies Family, Girl Scout Cookies is a hybrid of the renowned Florida OG and an unknown strain referred to as “F1 Durban.”
Although Fire OG is a well-known cultivar, its ancestry is unclear. This cut, popularized by a California-based breeder known as OG Raskal, is an exceptional phenotype of OG Kush. Some growers believe that Fire OG is an original cutting of OG Kush, but others suggest that it might be an S1 of OG.
Bubbles Feminized Cannabis Seeds
Greenpoint Seeds used the elite, clone-only cut of Animal Cookies to pollinate the classic Indiana Bubblegum. The resulting strain, Bubbles, offers a range of phenotypes that display the coveted traits of Bubblegum and Cookies. Some plants will be more Bubblegum-dominant, and others will display more Animal Cookies qualities. Nearly every phenotype will be incredibly flavorful, aromatic, and potent.
Bubbles Aroma
Indiana Bubblegum’s most recognizable quality is its sweet, fruity aroma. True to its name, this variety smells distinctly of sweet pink bubblegum. When the buds are broken apart, they release sweet floral notes, coupled with earthy, skunky undertones.
In contrast, Animal Cookies provides a rich, sweet-and-tangy aroma that is pleasant yet pungent. The flowers emit an earthy and nutty smell, with undertones of cookie dough, petrol, skunk, and menthol. When the buds are broken apart, Animal Cookies displays notes of cherry, pine, and pepper.
Bubbles brings together the sweet, candy-like aroma of Indiana Bubblegum and the sweet-and-sour bouquet of Animal Cookies. This strain produces a variety of phenotypes with scents that range from bubblegum and soil to cookie dough and skunk. Most plants offer a combination of these aromas.
Bubbles Flavor
Bubbles’ sweet, skunky aroma also is present in its flavor. This variety tastes strongly of candy, cookie dough, cherry, soil, and skunk. Depending on the phenotype, Bubbles may taste more like Indiana Bubblegum or like Animal Cookies.
Bubbles Effects
Bubblegum offers a balanced high that is neither overwhelming nor lacking in potency. Users experience a gentle wave of euphoria that may elevate the mood and reduce stress. Soon, the high turns into a gentle body stone that may reduce pain and ease muscle tension. When consumed in moderation, Indiana Bubblegum can be enjoyed at any time of day.
In contrast, Animal Cookies delivers a powerful stone that can be felt almost immediately. Some users report that the body-numbing effect lulls them into a deep sleep and appears to relieve pain and muscle tension. Animal Cookies’ calming effects are perfect for a relaxing evening or weekend smoke but may not be ideal for daytime use.
As the offspring of these two varieties, Bubbles provides a potent but well-balanced effect, which can be felt in both the body and mind. The high begins with a rush of euphoria and quickly descends into a body-numbing stone. This variety is excellent for an evening or nighttime smoke.
Bubbles Structure
Like most Indica-dominant strains, Indiana Bubblegum is short to medium in height, with thick branches and tight internodal spacing. This cultivar forms large, bright-green fan leaves that have broad leaflets. Indiana Bubblegum develops massive, heavy colas that are dusted with trichomes. The buds are lime-green and gold, and are adorned with amber pistils and milky resin glands.
Animal Cookies is medium to tall in height, with long, spindly branches and dark-green leaves that often display hues of yellow and purple during the late flowering period. Animal Cookies forms small, lime-green buds that are sprinkled with red pistils and hints of purple in the sugar leaves. The flowers are incredibly dense and heavily caked in resin.
Bubbles is of medium height, with robust branches that have moderate internodal spacing. This strain develops medium-size colas that are heavily coated in trichomes. The flowers are dense and frosty, and are lime-green in coloration. Some Cookies-dominant phenotypes may display hues of red and purple in the leaves and buds during the late flowering period.
Growing Bubbles
Indiana Bubblegum is an easy-to-grow strain resistant to most pests, diseases, and environmental stressors. This variety grows vigorously and matures within eight to nine weeks of flowering. Indiana Bubblegum is highly adaptable, and can be grown both indoors and outdoors, using a variety of cultivation techniques. When grown outdoors, this strain thrives in a warm and dry environment, with daytime temperatures between 68 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit.
In contrast, Animal Cookies is infamously difficult to grow and is sensitive to many environmental stressors. To produce an average yield, this variety must be provided with proper nutrition, ample lighting, a stable pH, and a moderate climate with low humidity.
Bubbles offers the hardiness and resilience of Indiana Bubblegum as well as the potency and bag appeal of Animal Cookies. This variety is much easier to grow than Animal Cookies and is resilient to many pests and diseases. Bubbles can be grown both indoors and outdoors, if provided with a warm and dry environment.
Pest & Disease Control
Some Bubbles phenotypes may be prone to powdery mildew. Growers can avoid powdery-mildew infections by thinning the canopy, providing lots of ventilation, and keeping a low humidity level in the grow room. Foliar sprays such as water and sodium bicarbonate solutions may be used during the vegetative period to help stop powdery mildew infections.
Due to the unusual density and frost of the flowers, both Indiana Bubblegum and Animal Cookies are prone to bud rot. Like its parents, Bubbles may be susceptible to bud rot. Growers can prevent bud rot by removing some of the large fan leaves, using fans to promote airflow, and keeping the humidity level below 50 percent during the flowering cycle.
Harvesting & Curing Bubbles
Bubbles tends to flower rapidly, with most plants completing the flowering cycle in eight to nine weeks. Growers can determine if the plants are ready for harvest by observing the trichomes with a magnifying glass. When the trichomes turn from transparent to milky white, with some starting to turn amber, the plants are likely ready to be harvested.
If Bubbles is harvested when the trichomes are clear, this strain may produce a more stimulating cerebral high. Conversely, if it is harvested the trichomes have turned amber, the effects will usually be more relaxing and narcotic. Harvesting the plants when they are fully ripe will ensure a bountiful yield of potent, flavorful buds.
One to two weeks before harvest, most growers start flushing the plants with distilled water. This practice may remove fertilizers that have been stored in the buds, and improve their aroma and flavor. During this stage, the leaves of Bubbles may turn from emerald-green to yellow or purple.
After they have been flushed, the plants are ready to be harvested. Growers start the harvesting process by cutting down the plants and removing the fan leaves on the branches. They trim away the sugar leaves that surround the buds and use them to create extracts, tinctures, and other THC-rich products.
Once the buds have been trimmed, growers dry them by hanging the branches by a node or placing them on drying racks for up to seven days. When the branches become brittle, the flowers have been fully dried.
After drying, growers cure the buds by placing them in sealable glass jars and storing the jars in a cool and dark area. By opening the jars once or twice a day, growers can prevent moisture and mold from accumulating on the buds. After two weeks of curing, the buds are ready to be smoked; however, it may a longer period of time (up to eight weeks) to cure them properly.

I’m so excited to grow them

I am surprised there isn’t more reviews for Bubbles.
Easy to grow, 4 out of 6 had a very strong bubblegum aroma, the other 2 were excellent examples of the cross.
The plants were very happy pHed at 6.5 through whole grow. I averaged just under 13 oz per plant… After 8 week veg, and pruned for air flow and to remove and prevent larf.

Overall the phenos grew similar in structure and they all yielded well. Grown in 2 gallon hempy buckets, averaged 4ounces per plant of some cookie bubble funk.
