Topanga Cookies is an Indica-dominant feminized hybrid. Feminized seeds are prized by growers because they simplify the growing process. Approximately 99.9 percent of our feminized seeds produce plants that are female. Structure

Topanga Cookies is medium to tall in height, with long branches that have moderate internodal spacing. This variety forms medium-sized colas, with dense buds that are caked in resin. Topanga Canyon OG phenotypes may form thicker branches and larger colas. Animal Cookies-dominant phenotypes may be somewhat frostier and colorful. When exposed to cold temperatures, some plants may display hues of purple and red in the leaves and buds.

Growing Topanga Cookies

Topanga Cookies offers the vigor and yield of Topanga Canyon OG, and the exceptional density and resin production of Animal Cookies. This variety is resistant to most pests and diseases, and can be grown indoors or outdoors. If given a warm and dry environment, with ample lighting and nutrients, Topanga Cookies can produce a sizeable yield of premium buds.

Like its parents, Topanga Cookies tends to stretch in height as it begins to bloom. Growers can limit the vertical stretch and increase the yield of this cultivar by using a variety of high-stress and low-stress training methods. The plants respond well to topping, fimming, super cropping, and other training techniques. The weight of the hefty colas may cause the branches to sag during the late flowering period. Staking or trellising the plants may prevent the branches from sagging.

Pest & Disease Control

Most OG and Cookies varieties are known to be susceptible to powdery mildew. Some phenotypes of Topanga Cookies also may be prone to powdery-mildew infections. By pruning the plants, providing sufficient air circulation and lighting, and keeping the humidity level low, growers can usually prevent powdery mildew from infecting the plants. Foliar sprays such as water and apple cider vinegar solutions can also be used during the vegetative growth stage, but growers should avoid spraying anything on plants during the flowering cycle.

As a result of the compactness of the buds, some Topanga Cookies plants may be vulnerable to bud rot. By pruning the plants, providing lots of ventilation, and keeping the humidity level below 50 percent during the flowering period, growers can prevent bud rot from ruining their harvest.

Cookies and OG strains typically require more calcium and magnesium than most strains do. Some Topanga Cookies phenotypes may also require an additional supply of these micronutrients. By using a cal-mag supplement or amending the soil with dry amendments such as langbeinite and dolomite lime, growers can prevent the plants from becoming deficient in these micronutrients. In order to maintain a stable pH, growers should use a pH meter to test their nutrient solutions.
