Ghost OG traces to OG Kush, and that story starts in 1992 when Alec Anderson bought an ounce of something called Krippy in southern Florida, found seeds in the bag, and germinated them. He kept clones of the one that stood out and gave a cutting to Matt Berger. One of Matt’s friends said the flowers looked like kushberries and the name stuck.

In 1996 Matt took the clone to Silverlake and started growing with Josh D. It moved so well that other growers started passing off fake cuts, so the two of them began calling theirs OG Kush, or OGers, to mark it as the original.

A breeder called OrgnKid bought a bag of it, tracked down the clone, and paid five thousand dollars and five pounds of flower for the cut. To make that back he started selling S1 seeds and clones, and one of those clones went for a thousand dollars to a gardener nicknamed Ghost1. People started calling OrgnKid’s cut Ghost OG after the buyer, and the name is still on it.
