90s Amsterdam Coffee Shop meets Modern California Dispensary. A “Silver Cookie” for the connoisseur.
The Insider Lowdown
Super Silver Haze (SSH) is the Green House Seeds legend that won the Cannabis Cups in ’97, ’98, and ’99. Itβs energetic, citrusy, and pine-heavy. Weβve crashed this tall, lanky Dutch master into the stout, potent Animal Cookies. The goal? A hybrid that retains the electric, creative high of the SSH but finishes weeks earlier with the bag appeal of the Animal. Expect a clash of metallic citrus and doughy funk.
Deep Dive: Old World vs. New World
This is a classic “Hybrid Vigor” experiment. We are crashing two distinct eras of cannabis history together. You have the Sativa structure of the SSH (long, lanky branches, high humidity tolerance) meeting the Indica structure of the Animal Cookies (squat, humidity sensitive).
The Breeding Logic
The goal is a plant that yields like a Dutch Sativa but looks like a California Cookie. We want the “Silver” resin rails of the SSH on the “Golf Ball” nuggets of the Animal.
Phenotype Hunting Guide
We are mixing Terpinolene/Pinene (SSH) with Caryophyllene/Limonene (Animal Cookies). You want the “Hazy Dough” phenoβa plant that stretches like a sativa but fills out with the density of an indica.
- The “Blend”: You want the “Lemon-Lime Cookie Dough.” A sharp, metallic citrus front end that clears the sinuses, followed by a heavy, buttery finish.
- Growth Pattern: Look for plants that have wider internodal spacing than the pure Animal, but tighter than the SSH. These will yield massive colas if supported properly.
- The “Clash”: Sometimes Haze x Cookie crosses result in a cardboard/hay smell if the terpene synthases conflict. Cull these immediately.
Caesar’s Take: SSH is a heavy feeder; Animal Cookies is a light feeder. This will be tricky. Feed lightly in veg (EC 1.2 – 1.5). Ramp up slowly in flower. If you see “clawing” leaves, the Nitrogen is too high (an Animal trait). If the leaves yellow too early, the Nitrogen is too low (an SSH trait). You must read the plant.
