East Coast Sour Diesel x Stardawg
Dynamite Diesel – All the best of east coast cannabis is represented in Dynamite Diesel. The history of her mother, the ECSD, is a bit controversial and convoluted. What is certain is that the plant is a genetic gem. Her fingerling buds magically capture the aromas of diesel fumes, gear grease, and oil barrels. While the strength of the smell of many cultivars is exaggerated, ECSD’s bouquet simply cannot be exaggerated.
The smallest bud will endlessly emanate scents of a roadkill skunk and a mechanic’s workshop, and anybody in the immediate vicinity will quickly become suspicious or envious. ECSD has a potency to match, and is what I describe as a “devastating sativa.” She is euphoric, super-powerful, and can be strong enough to cease all productivity for the day–not your functional sativa or gentle in the slightest.
Chemdog was grown and bred with extensively on the east coast, the Stardawg being the culmination of these breeding efforts. Stardawg has a somewhat similar aroma to ECSD, both manifesting industrial and mechanical scents. Stardawg, however, leans less toward petrol products and more toward chemical cleaners and will deepen the complexity of Dynamite Diesel.
Dynamite Diesel will have the potency of the highest order, will be vigorous, and not nearly as finicky as her mother. Aromas should represent the full spectrum of all things “industrial” and will seriously impress smokers who appreciate raunchy, nasty, or grungy scents in their cannabis. The strength of smoke will definitely not disappoint either–Dynamite Diesel is an instant American classic.

Ran her outside from seed in NorCal. Popped seeds early April and had them outside by mid May. Selected the pheno that seemed to handle to my hot ass climate and set it up in a 30 gal of my organic soil mix.
The grow: Natural structure was beautiful for outdoor in my climate, very minimal training needed. Spacing was so good that the trellis slipped right on with no adjusting needed. I didn’t chop her until late October, she survived a couple of storms with no mold issues at all. Stretchy but not as stretchy as ECSD. Strong burnt rubber/garlicky onion kerosene smell during flower.
Bud quality:
Resin coverage is beautiful, thick layer of sticky trichs so heavy you can barely see the green calyxes. All leaves faded to a dark purple and this is noticeable with purp specks throughout the buds. I actually ended up leaving a fair amount of leaf on the buds because the resin rails were so thick. Unfortunately, most of the buds leaned to the fluffier side (which isn’t a huge surprise from an ECSD cross). The buds didn’t hold their green color for more than a few months after curing either, although the potency and flavor held well. Untrimmed buds stored and trimmed 6 months later did still have a decent green color though.
Smoke: Strong potency and flavor with a smooth burn. So sticky with resin that my grinder struggles to grind this one.
Tastes like dank burnt onions (in a good way) and the smell of the smoke itself will turn heads. Buds will stink up a decently sized area even if bagged. Everyone who tried this one has loved it.
Conclusion: Good tasting, strong smelling, potent chemmy dank. Would have been a keeper if it was denser and had less larf (even after a fair amount of lollipopping and thinning). If you make hash, this is one to look into.
Back again with an update….out of the females found, this is the only one that showed quite a bit of color to it. It has always had red petioles and stem, etc. but I am actually seeing the color upon maturation really kick in. The smell of all the Dynamite Diesels have been on the extreme side……but this one with the red expressions is kind of mute until you rough-house it….in which case it’s pretty loud…..
Labor Day Monday will be 5 weeks since going to a 12/12 cycle. One of the easiest strains I’ve grown….responds well to multiple toppings (my max was 8 but it ended up male) and the recover time after topping was a day – maybe. Grew very well in less than ideal lighting conditions…..stretch is SERIOUS on this strain. I flipped while shoots were at/just below screen level and they grew about 16-18″ ABOVE screen throughout a 3 week stretch period. NO JOKE ! ! ! Trichome coverage on 1/3 females is awesome – other 2 are “normal” at this stage. These also clone very easily…..
if you a sour deez lover this is one to grab, you find several SD leaning pheno’s in every pak.
the SD leaners REEK so have your filters ready for a beat down.
I remember 1 head mentioning SD was intense it will seep through a concrete block wall LOL
These photo is more of the ecsd diesel pheno i think
I tried the line in feminized form overall im very impressed this true diesel genetic for sure!im at week 7~8 grown with led greenpoint have fire worked genetic!
On March 12th I popped my remaining 6 beans using the h20 soak method to start them…5 out of the 6 sank w/in 8-12 hours. I then put ALL 6 into some coco coir as I’ve seen a bean that never sank straight up bring the stank later in life before). WITHIN 6-8 hours (no bull sh*t) ALL 6 (yes including the bean that never sank) were above the surface but still with the shell attached mostly. Within 24 hours cotyledons were out and its been growing steadily since.
The number 6 that never sank never really caught up so I decided to yank it on April 17th. Today is April 22 so its been a month and a few days and WOW are they LOUD ! ! ! I haven’t yet tried to determine which of the 5 is putting that stank out because Im still in veg and will be for a while now. I haven’t performed the good ole stem rub yet either as things have been busy with a tent in flower in the same room. My 5 Dyn’ Diesel are in a larger Rubbermaid tote that I can move easily as its still on a 18 hour on light sked and it is when that “nursery” is put onto our Sun porch is when that stank becomes pleasurably powerful.
All 5 are fairly uniform in # of nodes and size but there are 2 that have noticeably fatter leaves – we’ll see what happens later. The reason Ive given it the higher number of stars is it has been an ease to grow and the stank will bring yo’ ass to the floor looking for fallen cured nugs from an earlier sesh ! ! ! In fact – Im on my way to find out which of the 5 is putting out THAT stench right now ! ! ! Thanks GPS. ..will keep you up on its progress as the time comes….
nice cola on all 4 female plants and vibrant colors
5/6 Germinated and all 5 grew healthy and consistently. 2/5 were males and I choose to keep one that had good plant structure and growth. Haven’t yet flowered the females.
All I can say is wow what a strain to grow and be able to obtain!!! Football sized colas on every pheno, very strong odor of straight gas and skunk!!! Glad I saved a few beans for another run in future!!!
