Black Friday Seeds Drop

Black Friday 2025: Star Dawg Crosses (Regular)

The Back-to-Basics Drop

By Gu~ @ Greenpoint Seeds

I built this Black Friday run to do two things at once:

  1. Give everyone real access to the heavy-duty Chem & Diesel and OG Kush families; and
  2. Release limited one-offs that seed my line-work projects while letting the community hunt the extras.

Star Dawg is the canvas. It’s clean, vigorous, and a proven building block—an improvement on the old Skunks and one of the true pillars of modern genetics. I’m using it to outcross heirlooms, then backcross those lines to themselves and refine toward specific flavor, structure, and visual goals. The limiteds exist because I only need a few seeds to start that work; the rest I’m releasing to you.

Founder Editorial: Why I’m Steering Back to Variety

For a decade, the market chased a single question: “What’s the best bud?” Cookies put a bow on that answer—complete package: flavor, resin, bag appeal, structure. We arrived at a pinnacle. But once the industry found its “best,” everything began to sound the same. The shelves turned into one long remix of Cookies.

I’m not interested in monoculture. Cannabis should be a menu, not a single entrée. There’s grapefruit and cherry, anise and licorice, spearmint and menthol, earthy spice and incense woods. Different terp families interact with cannabinoids in different ways; different plant architectures change how gardens feel and look. If you love Cookies, great—but every day for ten years dulls the palate. This drop is a course correction: go back, pick up the classics, clean them up with Star Dawg, and then steer them toward distinct lanes—color, bag appeal, nose, and structure—so everyone can find their thing again.

Headliners I’m personally watching

  • Chem 91 × Star Dawg — the Chem backbone with a modern chassis; loud, clean, and built to be worked.
  • OG Kush (Tahoe) × Star Dawg — classic OG frame meeting a sharper, more assertive driver.
  • Durban Poison × Star Dawg (Limited) — heirloom spice and old-world character polished on a Star Dawg base.

Regular = larger production runs. Limited = I kept enough to start backcross projects; the rest are released and will move fast.

Thank you thank you! There’s a few more companies that I use that are getting away from cookies. Everyone’s first sense is sight and cookies is beautiful, but it eventually all tastes the same. “Variety is the spice of life”

  2. Steven Polk says:

I am eternally grateful Mr. Gu, you are a very generous person. Thank you very, very much. And on that note, I’m trying to score Bison Breath Cowboy Cookies Tomahawk Blue Zushi x Star Dawg!!!

The sad part is where I live in Ontario there’s weed everywhere you’ll have to go through 100 samples of cookies varieties to find anything that tasted like a baked good and you still might be hard pressed to find it….. and don’t even get me started about finding anything that taste like that good old buttery Kush. We used to get it in a tuna can from BC you cannot find Kush flavour anywhere anymore.
