Big Bud is the commercial workhorse of the 1980s, Skunk #1 and Northern Lights and Afghani built for one purpose: weight. It went to Holland, won its cups, and settled in as the plant growers used when the bills were due.

Ken Estes reached for it in the early 2000s to fix Purple Urkle‘s yield, and Granddaddy Purple came out of that decision.
