Ken Estes

Ken Estes is a master grower and breeder with a long history in the cannabis industry. As the creator of the famous Granddaddy Purple variety, he has earned widespread acclaim among growers far and wide.

After a terrible motorcycle accident left him paralyzed from the waist down, Estes turned to cannabis to ease his pain. Soon, he began a quest to create the ultimate cannabis variety that would help patients around the world to stop using pharmaceuticals.

Estes made a name for himself with the renowned Granddaddy Purple variety: a Indica-dominant hybrid of Purple Urkle and Big Bud. Initially released in the early 2000s, this cultivar is cherished for its lip-smacking grape-candy flavor and beautiful purple-colored buds.

After witnessing the success of his Granddaddy purple variety, Ken Estes set about producing a wide selection of GPD hybrids. His team at Granddaddy Genetics has released hits such as Ken’s Grand OG, Bay 11, Candyland, and many other well-known varieties that have become favorites among cannabis users.
