Blueberry Sugar reversed onto itself. The line is Grape Cream Cake crossed to Blueberry Frosting, and the Frosting side runs back to DJ Short’s Blueberry, the plant he selected out of Highland Thai and Afghani stock in the seventies and spent thirty years refining. An S1 gives you the mother rather than a cross off her.

The Cross
There isn’t one. An S1 comes from reversing a female and using her own pollen on herself, so the pack carries only that plant.

The Frosting side is the reason to care. It runs back to DJ Short‘s Blueberry, which is the oldest continuously worked American berry line there is. Short selected it out of imported Highland Thai and Afghani material in the seventies and spent decades holding it together while everything around it got crossed to death.
Grape Cream Cake comes from Cannarado Genetics, the house that changed what purple meant in this market.
