GG varieties was founded by Don Peabody—who went by the name Josey Whales—and Ross Johnson, also known as Lone Watty. The pair had been running a grow operation together when one of Johnson’s plants became hermaphroditic and pollinated Peabody’s cut of Chocolate Diesel. From this accidental pollination emerged Gorilla Glue #4, better known as GG4.
After discovering the renowned GG4 phenotype, Peabody and Johnson shared clones of the plant with many of their friends. Soon, word spread across the country about this exceptionally flavorful variety. It has since won numerous Cannabis Cups and has become one of the most popular cultivars in the world.
Sadly, Peabody and Johnson have passed away, but their legacy lives on in the incredible cannabis genetics they have shared with the world. GG varieties continues to produce a wide range of cannabis seeds that descend from the illustrious Gorilla Glue #4.
