Chem Zoda came out of an 800-plant pheno hunt I ran in my greenhouse. The run threw 12 to 14 keepers, and two of them stood head and shoulders above the rest: Chem Zoda and Candy’d Ambrosia.
Chem Zoda gave me two phenos worth keeping. #147 is the full package, the one you photograph. #139 is the one you smoke. Hit it and the whole mouth goes cool, a plain mentholated mint that stains the palate, then a sweet finish. Open the jar and it is minty frosted icing, mint granita and Italian ice: dessert, with brightness and acidity behind it. It was the first jar of the whole group to go. I couldn’t stop smoking it.
#139 is the pollen on every cross here. Seven mothers under it, Candy’d Ambrosia #107 among them, the other standout from the same hunt, so the two best plants of the run meet in one cross.
This is my own selection on my own work, bred here and nowhere else. If you like big pheno hunts, breeder selections and structured pairings, these are the crosses. Nobody will have anything like them next year.
