So a few days from 10 weeks. They are ready to chop. Heads are very frosty and dense. Very nice smells all around. I really can’t wait to try them all. I thought I wanted the most sundae driver like plant but I gotta tell you the 50/50 could be super nice. Next grow (if one of these is a keeper after I smoke) I will try to scrog it.  Can’t wait for the cure. On cut I will do a quick summary of the grow with some details.

Just finished last harvest.. will throw some pics below. Everything came out excellent. Each plant finished different smell wise. Although I note some structure differences below they all had great bud heads I have no complaints other than the slight one that they were stretchy as hell. 2.5x to 3x. I should have trained it some but I like to run plants natural the first time through. Good yields.

These were vegged for about 30 days right from seed pop.

Grown using DWC. Lucas method straight through. (Maxibloom) No other additives except I do use silica as ph up and a ph down. Full strength except last few weeks when I cut to 2/3 to 1/2. Buds seem really loose until the final few weeks went they filled in quickly. Very solid buds.

These plants were under a 400w hps for the first few weeks of flower because of lack of space in the main tent. Then they were put under a 1k hps.

Humidity was 70-80% for the first half of the grow (wet summer) then I kicked on the dehumidifier and brought it down to 55-65%. Always a ton of airflow. No co2

Temps were high 60’s low 70’s on lights out. High 70’s low 80’s lights on. I don’t measure res temps because they rest on a nice cool concrete floor and are always cool/cold.

Plant 1 - Buds are a little more airy and minor foxtail like structure to them. Harder to trim than the others but not horrible. Smells like fresh cleaner, astringent, but fresh with a undertone of lemon (amnesia haze like but very light) No sweetness at all. I have a feeling this one might be the best smoke of them...just because it has probably the most undesirable traits of the bunch and that’s my luck.

plant #2 This one smelled like dirt...but not the nice musty smell...but like slime dirt from worms or something. Gross. Easy trim. Great structure. Good yield on all these plants but this one was the biggest. Looser structure but tighter than plant 1.

plant #5 This one was not chemy at all, floral smelling and slightly sweet. Nice light smell. It will be interesting to see what it smells like after cure. Very good structure, easy to trim.

plant #6 This one seemed a touch frostier than #5. No sweet smell at all (well maybe a tiny tiny hint at the tail end of a sniff) more skunky with just a touch of chem. This one smells strongest. More just stink and not as complex. Another super easy one to trim. A good variety of smells from all these plants. Hopefully we get some nice subtle differences when the cure is in.

I’ll do a smoke report in the future sometime. That’s where the rubber hits the road.

l also can’t believe the lack of tester journals from the people who received free seeds. I know some haven’t been popped but I’m betting a ton have. Don’t be dirtbags. Even a single post with an opinion would be better. Help people go off more than just the name and lineage.

Exactly this. The supposed ‘testers’ lagged down the site that many who would actually TEST gave up. Hope GU keeps a record of who took the ‘testers’ and didn’t grow them out. Nice job bud!

it would be a much shorter list if he just kept note of who actually did grow them out.

i didnt go for testers because i knew i wouldnt be able to get them done then you see all these people just grabbing them up with no intention of ever growing them. people are assholes

Nice job on keeping up with the journal. My report will be up in a week or two once curing is complete on my Western Wizard. I can't remember to keep weekly updates and all that jazz so I wait until I got the info everyone wants which is the smoke report and throw something together then. I got two very different phenos one was chopped at 56 days and the other is still going at day 71 and looking like she will go over 85.

Order top to bottom 6,5,2,1

in pics doesn’t look like much diff but 5 is much darker. All are pretty covered. I need a better camera.

So here are the cured smell of each. My favorite smoke so far is the #5 but I really need to write down a description while I’m sampling it but from what I remember it’s take  effect pretty quick and strong and levels off quick. A good tingly high with a mild euphoria that after 10-15 levels off to a nice relaxing state. #5 is the strongest.

#1 smells a little bit perfumery with a very tiny lemon undertone. Not a super strong smell. Very pleasant

#2 smells a bit earthy and slightly like coffee. More generic.  Dry light smell

#5 smells like practically nothing. Smells fresh a little astringent...but honestly I have to break it up to smell it

#6 earthy a little floral. This one was a never ending plant. Haven’t even bothered to try.

#5, the one that smells almost like nothing, is your favorite?

Looks good! But sound like nothing really groundbreaking with this cross?

If given the option, would you grow again? Would you pay 80-100 for another pack to grow?

Keep It up!!

I mostly judge on affect of the smoke. If it smells great that is a bonus. If it smells like junk that is a negative.

I do have to report on flavor...which is different than the smell.

So honestly none of the phenos exhibited anything super special when it came to smell. I’m not going to say generic but nothing unusual.

Its smooth and strong. Although the high itself is nothing super unusual either.

Overall it’s a really good strain. Solid plant in yield, affect and structure (when you control the stretch) I’m probably going to keep on and run it again to see if I can dial it in a bit more and pull something more out of her. But I had 0 expectations for Sunday driver portion of the plant. If  I did I would have been disappointed  (I never really bought into the sundae driver hype anyway) I still might pop the rest and see what else I get.

If if you told me for 90$ I was going to get seeds that would run like this I would be pleased. I have run lots of 100-150 packs and not have gotten as good results. (Mostly euro strains from big banks, American breeders are light years ahead now) If you are attaching a name and expecting something crazy...I could see someone being disappointed (disappointed might be too strong of a word too)

Anyway this run got me interested in some other strains so I’m going to run lucky 7s or ghost town next. I want something else to it so I have a better reference. Everything else might be a step up, down, or on par.

Great reply! Thanks!

Some of the nuggets you posted look nice and chunky, even colorful, but flavor and aroma are a BIG deciding factor in my meds...

Ive got the stardawg BX, cake n chem, and City Slicker in line to start next.

But thanks again for the thorough response!

Yea this wasn’t a “wow what is that” when you open the bag. It’s more you smoke it and go....this is really good. The flavor was good too but I need to have a pen in hand otherwise I will just forget the subtleties.

Its a high quality plant.

It really takes forever to have a good grasp on each plant and which is better...it’s honestly a lot to test. My opinion on my fav might change. I have a couple other people trying too. I might be a bit picky/jaded.

I’m growing Tangie right now too and if that doesn’t have flavor and smell I’m going to be pissed. I’m growing it for that. This one I didn’t have any preconceived notions on what it was going to be like.

I have so much I need to pop and I really only do 3 seasons....maybe I will try and do a winter one.

btw I just asked my buddy and he said the sample he smoked was super strong and he couldn’t finish the bowl. He said it was really good. He isn’t a light weight either....so take that for what it’s worth.
