Rapid LED sells an array kit of three vero 29s cheaper than anywhere else i could find. Got 3 arrays and i am running a 320b maxwell driver instead of the 240 that comes with it, and each array yields a 3x3 area almost equal to a 600wt Ushio. After 7 months of use, each array has only dropped off by about 5-7%, which isn't bad running them almost all out  12/12 and only $25-30 per cob and some solder to replace. I believe it is about $40 to upgrade to the 320 but blindingly worth it. Throw in a 315 cmh and i am good to go.

Anyone want a new 240b maxwell driver for free? I will try to get some pics up in the coming days of girls and lights. Have 288 and 304 quantum boards, but still judging them. Quantums are pretty cool and wish they had been around back in the compact flo/closet growing days.

Has anyone tried black dog led lights? Are they hyped? What were your results?

Would love to send it to you and in time hopefully thru Gu or some intermediary. Still in box.

Haven't tried black dog because of the price. But a 620 wt quantum board looks as bright and to me and my light meter, and has just as good penetration as one of my 600w ushio. Maybe as much as a 1000w ushio, which i run two in separate flower room. I kind of like a mixture of light types and my plants move down a row and rotate daily with each watering.

From what i have heard on grow tube round table, Growmu thinks Kind led, Blackdog, etc. are overhyped. A dimmable 620wt QB is about $750 at growerslights.com, black dog i think are like $1,800 and up. For UV I like to use 315cmhs and bulbs with no uv block and i still like my old lizard lights and use them still. They need that UV earlier in flower rather than last two weeks per Ed Rosenthal.

Vero 29s, pumping out at over 100wts each put out some dense quality bud as well, but more heat than the quantum board. I think quantums put out the least heat of any grow light. I started with small q boards for side lighting and shadow areas and slowly phasing out the hps lights. Air tubes a bitch with low ceilings.

I was thinking the same thing about black dog led being overhyped although their website makes a good case for their lights. I was especially intrigued when I saw their YouTube video using a 200w fixture to grow 7 ounces (check it out!). Even given that I'm sure they were from clones and probably of a commercial variety, blue dream or other, was still an impressive yield in such a tiny grow space. But they are on the expensive side of the spectrum. Horticulture lighting group's QB lights have excellent reviews and anecdotal use of their lights seems more prevalent on the web as compared to the black dogs lights. Not to mention a lot less expensive too. Still would like to hear more reviews of actual grows using black dog led if anyone has any experience with them, good or bad.

I have been running  (2) of the new 220 watts black dog. my grow space is 2x4 (4) plants. I up graded from a led that was just under 400 watts. While my harvest weight went up about 30% it was hard to maintain the recommended temps of 85 degrees. I had to actually add a source of heat because  the lights did not produce enough heat. Also I am not comfortable running those kind of temperatures. My last grow (white diesel) I came close to the magic numbers of a gram a watt it came in at 0.8 grams per watt. Sounds like some of the newer Q boards are the way to go. Hope this helps.

I've been looking at advanced led diamond series if anyone has any info on those?

I'm a hobby grower, I suppose you'd call it that. And so I built my LED light at home for my 4x4 flowering tent, I used LED boards from a seller in estonia, via ebay.

There is no way I could afford or even justify paying $500 for a light. Don't even mention $1000-2000. That is extortionate! ....unless it covers a 20sqft area or something ridiculous like that.

I know some people who are using Fluence and they are killing it with their yields.

Been considering some Fluence units in the future.  Are they running the vypr or spydr models ?

They are pricy but they do seem to be putting out some amazing quality plants.

I'm still very new, and trying to get things setup right, but I bought 4 sunspect 600W LED's about 4 years ago. They suck all around. Last grow, I bought 2 Spectrum King SK600's. In the first 2 days, the plants grew like 2 inches. This was a test grow Had fungus gnats all through grow, all kinds of stressing, cut plants in half, root bound, tore out of pots way late. The 9 plants stopped growing at about 2 - 2.5 feet high. Even though it was the bottom of the plants, there were buds all the way down to the soil. The trics were just turning amber, and a lot were still clear when we cut them, and I got 331 g after a 10 day dry and 2 week cure.  I don't have much to compare too, but replacing 2 of those cheap 600w LEDs with 1 SK600 in the same tent was amazing. The terps are so strong, they burn my eyes. That is a first for me. My plants never smell like anything but hay. and the only change was the lights.  They are expensive, but well worth it. I hope to be able to build my own someday.

Having to do things on the cheap, Im seeing 45w LED's to cover a 3 x 3 for 20$ on Amazon. Is it just for seeds or how much do it put out? How well do they do guys? Im asking because Im bout to pull the trigger on an eight bulb, 2 footers CFL, for 65$ that gets 20K output. But that cheap LED looks good if it covers that much area. Basically looking for a decent veg light in the closet, aka, no heat. Im using a liltler one in another closet and having good luck with it for getting seeds, up, etc. But I need a makeshift veg area NOT the tent, lol. So if that LED is for only super small plants, I prolly get the CFL. But that seems cheap, Im thinkin Im not seeing something. I haven't read much up on these new deals, still just a cfl/HPS guy. Ole timer.

Used 2 run only hps, then went 2 mixed hps, mh, and led. This last round I'm using only led mars hydro pro II 1600w that puts out about 800w true watts on meter in a 4x4 tent and I have 2 say I'm pretty impressed, and a friend runs black dog true 1000 watts and ended up switching to the mars hydro because the black dogs seemed the grow foliage better than flower.

I have in order of purchase....Viparspectra PAR 700, (2) Maxsisun 300 watt, Timber Vero 29 V7(3500k),  HLG 260, 320, and 600 V2 (3000k), Rapid 75 watt 3590 COB(3000k).... so far i have had the best grows with the Timber Vero's......not sure what it is with the HLG's, the buds are smaller but super dense, killer flowers, but I'm thinking that I've been running the lights too hard.......those lights are strong!.....The Viparspectras and Maxsisuns actually do grow decent buds (Blurple lights), but they are way better for veg.....good luck and aloha
