55 yr old disabled, still get around ok. was the short stocky guy everyone came to get to move or move something big. lol. Plus I took some unique factory jobs over the years, and even though no breaks on bones (knock on wood, thank God). Bucked rivets opposite a rivet gun driver at a boat plant many years, basically joints wore out and the tendons and such ache like hell. Plus Ive added a bit of weight, but still got it in my for anther try or two to get healthy. Anyhow, actual diagnosis:  Broad based disc bulges L3-L4, L4-L5, and to a lesser degree, LS-S1 with accompanying facet arthropthy, resulting in central canal stenosis at L4-L5 with multilateral foraminial encroachment most pronouned at L4-L5, right greater than left, lumbago and lumbar radiculopathy. Now you see why I like G's Stardawg male, ChemD is my most favorite, but chems in general along with og's are my cup of tea for pain. Hate purples due to the potency problems, but but did have some firealienurkel one time that was super strong and Im a heavy smoker. At any rate, got a round of Maverick finishing, only got two gals out of eight popped, and got 9/9 Nightrider just threw into flower. Mavs already have the chem on the stem rub. Moral to the story, when people mention daytime, happytime, meds, I just laugh. I need the knockouts and I will fight the sleep, lol. Great place here, by the way, thanks for having me. Hillbilly from parts unknow, thru OR, to WA, to the gopher hole. Peace and karma.

You might want to give chinook haze a try, I finally just started calling it chemD I got tired of explaining "it's supposed to have citrus taste" because it hit you full on chem, plenty strong I have dropped my vaporizer twice so far, plus it's discontinued so cheap seeds, both phenos I had reek & feel of chemD.... I can barely get out of the bed somedays due to past back fractures, I know how important finding the right strain is... Good luck my friend

Same boat as you are. Have nearly identical problems with my back.

The Doc Holiday is one of the purple strains that had enough indica 'body' to it to get some relief. I'm 57 and also have crazy tolerance for weed.

Try it, can't hurt at this point.

Sitting here...looking like this

i think you are confusing potency for a particular effect though.

i have had daytime sativa smokes that are potent as hell, one rip and your dazed and confused and can barely make heads or tails of your surroundings or what your trying to do. truly potent but probably wouldn't bring the pain relieving effects your after.

Potency... tolerance, I find that good canna that has the pain numbing effect is not too much of a challenge to find, rather finding the strain that best works for you.

One of my favorites is sour D crossed  with urkle.

had one purple do it for me, beans too high, but it was firealienurkel. Now that was one good purp. Yea, just my system, like the knockouts, don't mind the sats if they don't make ya anxious, but chem/og and crosses are usually my best bet for meds

Agreed but I have to agree with a few of the other members here and think that potency as far as THC % doesn't have that great of an influence on pain I don't think CBD% does as much as people say. Mostly because I have had to date 95+% THC distillate and THCa crystals along with pure cbd isolate and cbg isolate and I have played around a lot with formulas and different ratios of pure noids vaped or eaten to help the pain from a dual vertebrae Fx I sustained in 2012 and reinjured again last September. I found that the absolute best mixes I have made for pain have been when I used whole flower or WF extracts like Rosin or Co2 that still has a high terp conc. and full spectrum cannabanoids especially strains with high CBG and CBN vs. the pure isolate mixtures. In fact I have been growing and refining an African Durban "magic" strain ordered from Seeds of Africa and it is PHENOMENAL FOR MY PAIN BUTTT when I finally tested it, it came back at 6.1%THC 0.2%CBD and when I would do rosin presses I would get about 20% by dried weight oil extract yield. And because the lab only tested for those two compounds all I knew was that it WAS NOT JUST the thc cbd content that effected my pain in the most well rounded way and that somewhere in the remaining 14ish% of noids and terps that remain unidentified that helped me more than even GG#4 or Stardawg or Chem strains. So that's food for thought and why I plan on finding a lab that does extensive secondary cannabanoid and terp testing to maybe shed some light on the possibility of future Type 4-X cannabis strain groups based on high concentration rare cannabanoids like CBC and CBG.

Regards,
Fritz

I have had some strains that, and its just my observation, as they weren't tested, but I suspect my grail would have a high thc and not a lot of CBD, but some. Maybe a tad more than some advertise. But ive tried the high CBD strains and they don't do nothing for me in and of themselves. But some of the best Ive had seemed to me to have the high or higher THC and then not just a drop, but not a glassful of CBD if they was tested, but thats just me wonderin'..........lol
